The drawing was made by Tamra Fox under the guidance of descendant Martha Ann Francisca Vallejo-McGettigan, and is based on a photograph of Adelayda Rosario Vallejo (1837-1895). Adelayda's ancestor was the 25 year old widow of the expedition, Feliciana Arballo. During the Anza expedition, Feliciana probably carried her infant daughter, Marķa Eustaquia, in a rebozo as shown in the drawing on the left. For formal occasions, or in the cold, the rebozo could be used as shown in the drawing on the right.
